Freedom
by Ayush Bahl
What is life without death?
What is joy without sorrow?
What is the brain without the body?
What is Freedom without the chains.
How high can civilisation rise?
How low can man stoop?
How fast will we advance?
How slow will we learn?
Freedom respects no divide,
Freedom fuels no hate.
Freedom acknowledges no victory,
Freedom pities no loss.
Is Freedom a boon?
Or is Freedom a bane?
Or a misguided ideology,
That rests in the brain?
Is Freedom a want?
Or is Freedom a need?
Or is it just a weapon,
Nurtured to script the end.
Perception is a river,
The river runs deep.
Freedom is the fish,
Man is the bait.
Our 'so-called' banner of Freedom,
Which flutters over our begotten heads,
Which leads us to our Final Testament,
The anti-thesis of Freedom.
The path behind was dark and grim,
The path ahead hangs in the uncertain.
Freedom hangs in the uncertain.
I hang in the uncertain.
Beautiful
