Creation in Verse - Mukund Aggarwal
THE PATH OF THE FORSAKEN
by Mukund Aggarwal
On they weave, threads of the
speckled sand,
through desolate, bygone lands, and country fields,
over hasty rivers, and the
uncharted, eternal peaks.
The Path goes ever on, and we tread
it with weary feet,
anon its end, rescind all joy, glory and hope,
to exhort the sunken gloom.
Then, awake are we, to measure the
life passed,
and its joys were lost in incessant
mourning, lest we see our last.
Let mirth and laughter come by, walk
alive in these sands,
why be enchained behind sparkling bars?
