A Peek into the History Notebook - Kabir Budhdev VII B

One of the Generals of Alauddin Khilji writes a letter to his father telling him about his experiences and future course of action in case of a Mongol attack.

                 A LETTER FROM GENERAL KABIR

Dear Father,

This is to update you on the current situation in the battlefield. We are expecting the Mongol army to attack us soon. This is their fifth attempt and just as in the past we are prepared to successfully defeat them due to our strong tactical defense system prepared under our able leader, Sultan Khilji.

The forts along the expected attacks have been repaired and the best of the Generals, including me, have been placed at susceptible frontier areas. The army has been strengthened and enlarged. We are in a highly organized state and capable of squashing the Mongols.

Do pray for our safe return.

Your Son,
General Kabir
