REBRUISING
by Praveer Deva
by Praveer Deva
A punch in
the face
A step on
the heart,
The stinging
pain that stays,
And the soul
pierced by darts.
The stab in
the back,
The blow on
the head,
The
confidence that cracks,
And the mind
fills with dread.
The sword
that ran through,
The bullet
hole that stayed,
And you had
no friends with you,
No matter
how much you prayed.
All who
laugh behind your back,
When all
they know is your name,
When your
body goes slack,
And you
don’t know who to blame.
The cuts
that never healed,
And constantly
new were made,
To the
curses I fell and kneeled,
Crying and
begging to end this hate.
The spit
darts that rained,
The names
that never seemed to end,
The blame
game which was perfectly aimed,
And all the
things which left you spent
But we only remember
what we had,
When we have
almost lost it,
That we only
remember our mistake,
After we
have been hit.
So don’t
forget to remember when,
You weren’t
drowning in the bad,
And if you
are having a hard time, then,
Remember all
the good times you had
So well written.....love the pathos in the poem
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful. So deep. It'll be good to keep in mind such a beautifully written message.
