Creation in Verse - Mukund Aggarwal

THE PATH OF THE FORSAKEN

 by Mukund Aggarwal

On they weave, threads of the speckled sand,

 through desolate, bygone lands, and country fields,

over hasty rivers, and the uncharted, eternal peaks.

The Path goes ever on, and we tread it with weary feet,

 anon its end, rescind all joy, glory and hope,

 to exhort the sunken gloom.

Then, awake are we, to measure the life passed,

and its joys were lost in incessant mourning, lest we see our last.

Let mirth and laughter come by, walk alive in these sands,

 why be enchained behind sparkling bars?

Only Human

                       by Aadyaa Shukla Tiwari

And just as I feel that I have done justice to my soul
And just as I feel that I am closer to my goals

Misfortunes appear and confuse me to heights
Doubts prevail make me question my rights

I feel helpless and overwhelmed
it's like the past has struck me to the very ends

I have nothing, nothing but me
Nothing but a mouth which longs to speak
But my heart is numb and my soul is dead

Having lost all my hope I have nothing to dread
My nightmares don't haunt me in dreams they haunt me in reality
My life doesn't exist in serenity

Eagerness has disappeared from every vein of my hand that exists
I  have done everything I could  do, I have taken all risks.

I have tried to love, I have tried to care
I have done things, I shouldn't have done in outright despair

But in the very end, I am also only a human, who wants to be healed
Break free of misgivings
Break free from my greed.

Creation in Verse - Arjun Mitra

'The Hills' by Arjun Mitra

"As the hills began to fade,
and the fog created the haze;
The cold began to creep,
And the pain started to seep;
I realized the beauty,
Of all that I couldn't see.

You see,
The pain is blinding,
And for everyday I spent pining,
The all consuming darkness,
Devoured the brightness;
You only miss the light when it's gone,
Thus began my fight to undo my wrong.

The clean air;
Made me realise,
That my eyes were blinded;
All the sadness was something I did,
I started to reveal all that I hid.

The thing is,
Only when you see your sadness,
Can you begin to find happiness;
Forget the issues,
Stop being a recluse,
And just begin anew.

The truth;
You create your pain,
You build your hell;
So break the walls,
And breathe the air;
See the view from the top of the hill,
Your issues are as small as a pill."
